ODN-azide (5-azido-DNA) is a modified nucleoside where the azide group (N₃) is introduced at the 5-position of the pyrimidine ring of deoxyuridine. ODN-Azide can be incorporated into DNA strands during synthesis. The azide group allows for subsequent labeling or modification via click chemistry, which can be used for visualizing and tracking DNA sequences in cells or tissues. ODN-Azide can also be used to study DNA interactions with proteins, small molecules, or other nucleic acids. The azide modification can be used to probe binding events or structural changes in DNA.
