Description

Azide-RGD is a molecule combining the azide functional group with the RGD peptide sequence. The RGD peptide sequence (Arg-Gly-Asp) is well-known for its role in cell adhesion, interacting specifically with integrins on the surface of cells, particularly integrins αvβ3 and α5β1. Azide-RGD can be used to study the binding of integrins on cell surfaces. The azide modification allows for the incorporation of additional tags or probes via click chemistry, facilitating detailed studies of integrin-mediated cell adhesion and signaling. It can also be used to target drug delivery systems to integrin-expressing cells. By attaching therapeutic agents or drug carriers to Azide-RGD through click chemistry, drugs can be delivered specifically to cells or tissues with high integrin expression.
