Description

HA-hyd-DOX (Hyaluronate-Hydrazone-Doxorubicin) is designed to enhance the delivery and efficacy of doxorubicin specifically to cancer cells while minimizing its impact on healthy tissues. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring polysaccharide that is abundant in connective tissues and has affinity for CD44 receptors, which are often overexpressed in cancer cells. HA is used in drug delivery systems for its targeting capabilities and biocompatibility. Hydrazone linker is used to attach doxorubicin to hyaluronic acid and ensures that DOX is released in the acidic tumor microenvironment. Doxorubicin is a potent chemotherapeutic drug used in the treatment of various cancers. It intercalates with DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, leading to apoptosis of cancer cells.
