PEG-b-P(NIPAM-co-AAPMA) refers to a block copolymer composed of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and a polymer containing a copolymer of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and 4-(2-acrylamido)phenylmethanol (AAPMA). PEG is a hydrophilic polymer consisting of repeating ethylene glycol units. It is known for its water solubility, biocompatibility, and ability to reduce protein adsorption. PNIPAM is a thermoresponsive polymer that undergoes a reversible phase transition in response to temperature changes. It is soluble in water below its lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and becomes insoluble above this temperature. AAPMA contains an acrylamide group and a phenylmethanol moiety. This monomer can introduce specific functionalities into the polymer, such as the ability to form hydrogen bonds or interact with other molecules.
