Description

Azide-N-arylacrylamides refer to a class of compounds that combine the reactivity of azide groups (N3) with N-arylacrylamides, which are derivatives of acrylamides containing an aryl group (an aromatic ring) attached to the nitrogen atom. The vinyl group of the acrylamide allows for free radical polymerization, making these molecules useful as monomers in the creation of functional polymers. When polymerized, these azide-N-arylacrylamides can introduce azide functionalities into the resulting polymer, enabling further post-polymerization modifications. Additionally, the acrylamide functionality can provide binding sites or reactivity towards biomolecules, and the azide group can be used for biomolecule attachment.
