N3-CPPs (Azide-Cycloparaphenylenes) are a class of compounds where the cycloparaphenylene (CPP) structure is modified with azide groups. CPPs are cyclic oligomers consisting of phenylene units arranged in a ring. They have a repeating unit of benzene rings connected in a cyclic fashion. The azide-modified CPPs can be employed in light-harvesting systems where they can facilitate the transfer of energy in photovoltaic cells or other energy conversion devices. In addition, N3-CPPs can be used in supramolecular chemistry for creating molecular complexes or hosts. Their structure allows for the formation of stable complexes with various guest molecules.
