tCBCO (trans-cyclobutane-fused cyclooctene) exhibits extremely fast kinetics when reacting with tetrazines, making it one of the most efficient reagents for bio-orthogonal labeling. The reaction rate is faster than traditional TCO derivatives, which allows for more rapid modification of biomolecules under mild, biocompatible conditions. tCBCO can be conjugated to proteins, peptides, or antibodies and then reacted with tetrazine-modified fluorophores, drugs, or other functional molecules. This rapid and selective conjugation is useful for tracking proteins in live-cell imaging or creating antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for targeted therapies.
