H-D-Cys(Trt)-2-Cl-Trt Resin (S-Trityl-D-cysteine-2-chlorotrityl resin) is built upon a 2-chlorotrityl chloride (2-Cl-Trt) polystyrene-based resin, which provides a robust and versatile support system during peptide assembly. Its core functional group, the 2-chlorotrityl (2-Cl-Trt) moiety, is known for its mild acid-labile properties, making it suitable for the synthesis of peptides that are sensitive to strong acids or harsh reaction conditions. The Cys residue attached to the resin is in its D-enantiomeric form (H-D-Cys), which is less common in nature but still valuable in synthetic applications, especially in developing therapeutics that resist proteolytic degradation. The resin allows for highly controlled peptide synthesis, enabling the protected Cysteine to remain stable during the chain elongation and be deprotected only when necessary for further reactions, such as disulfide bond formation or thiol-based functionalization.
