Description

U Polystyrene Resin is commonly employed in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), where peptides are synthesized by adding amino acids one by one to a growing chain attached to the resin. The urethane linker plays a key role in protecting the amino acids and guiding the cleavage process. Urethane linkers are compatible with Fmoc (fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl) peptide synthesis, where the N-terminal amine of each amino acid is protected by the Fmoc group, which is removed before each coupling step. After the peptide is fully assembled, the urethane linker can be cleaved under mild acidic or basic conditions, releasing the peptide. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
