Description

Fmoc-Orn(Boc)-MHPA PEG-Polystyrene Resin features an Fmoc (fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl) protecting group on the amine group of ornithine, a Boc (tert-butoxycarbonyl) protection on the side-chain amino group of ornithine, and an MHPA (methylhydroxyphenylacetyl) linker for stable attachment to the solid-phase support. Ornithine is a key component in the structure of certain antimicrobial peptides that target microbial cell membranes or disrupt cellular processes. Peptides synthesized with this resin can be tested for antibacterial, antifungal, or antiviral activity, with ornithine enhancing the basicity of the peptide for membrane interaction.
