Description

Fluorescent (DiI) Immunoliposomes-Folate (PEGylated), Lyophilized Powder are potential in various therapeutic, diagnostic, and research applications. The DiI dye allows for non-invasive imaging of liposomal formulations. This feature has been widely used to track liposome behavior in real-time, monitor tumor targeting, assess cellular uptake, and evaluate the pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of the drug or agent encapsulated in the liposomes. Immunoliposomes are a type of liposome that has antibodies or antibody fragments attached to their surface. These nanocarriers are biocompatible and are commonly used to deliver drugs, nucleic acids, proteins, and imaging agents. Folate can be conjugated to the surface of liposomes to allow them to bind specifically to cells that overexpress folate receptors. Once the folate-targeted liposomes bind to the receptors, they are internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis. This targeted delivery minimizes the exposure of healthy cells to potentially toxic drugs, reducing side effects and increasing the therapeutic index.
