Description

Cationic Liposome containing DOTAP-Rhod-PE is advantageous for gene and drug delivery, with the added benefit of fluorescent tracking for cellular and tissue analysis. The cationic DOTAP lipid enhances liposome uptake by cells, facilitating the delivery of nucleic acids, small molecules, or biologics. Meanwhile, Rhod-PE is a lipid derivative where the headgroup contains phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), a common phospholipid, and the tail is conjugated with Rhodamine, a fluorescent dye. Rhodamine is an organic fluorophore that emits bright fluorescence when excited by light, typically in the blue-green region. Rhod-PE is used for tracking liposome uptake in cells, cellular localization, liposome fusion, and drug release dynamics.
