Description

Cationic Liposome containing GL-67-NBD-DOPE incorporates GL-67, a cationic lipid, with NBD-DOPE, a fluorescently labeled neutral lipid, into the liposomal structure. The formulation offers a versatile platform for gene therapy, drug delivery, and fluorescence-based tracking of liposome behavior in biological systems. GL-67 is a cationic lipid with a positively charged amine group in its headgroup. This charge facilitates strong electrostatic interactions with negatively charged molecules, such as DNA, RNA, and other nucleic acids. This interaction results in the formation of stable complexes known as lipoplexes, which are essential for gene transfer applications. NBD-DOPE is a fluorescent lipid where the NBD (7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl) group is attached to the DOPE (dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine) lipid. The NBD group provides a green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, making it an excellent tool for imaging and tracking liposome behavior in cells and tissues.
