Description

NTA-PEG-Thiol (Nitrilotriacetic acid-PEG-Thiol) is a PEG conjugate with a nitrilotriacetic acid group and a thiol group at each end. NTA groups are often utilized in affinity chromatography for the purification of histidine-tagged proteins. Thiol groups (-SH) are reactive and can form covalent bonds with other molecules, particularly with maleimides or other compounds that react with sulfhydryl groups. PEG is often used in bioconjugation to modify and enhance the solubility of biomolecules, reduce immunogenicity, and increase circulation time in vivo.
