Description

Oleic-DBCO is a novel tool to conjugate lipid to azide-tagged biomolecules. Oleic acid is a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid commonly found in natural oils, such as olive oil. It has a long hydrophobic hydrocarbon tail and a carboxylic acid head. Oleic acid is often used in lipid-based formulations due to its amphiphilic nature, providing both hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties. The compound can be incorporated into lipid structures, such as liposomes or lipid nanoparticles, to functionalize their surfaces. This is useful for introducing specific properties or for conjugating molecules of interest.
