α-Chymotrypsin, Cy5 labeled is useful in various applications, particularly in studying enzyme kinetics, protein-protein interactions, and protein localization. α-Chymotrypsin is a globular protein consisting of a single polypeptide chain. The active site of the enzyme contains a catalytic triad consisting of serine, histidine, and aspartate residues. Cy5-labeled α-chymotrypsin can be used to study enzyme kinetics, including substrate binding, catalysis, and product formation, using fluorescence-based assays. In addition, by conjugating Cy5-labeled α-chymotrypsin to specific proteins or cellular structures, their localization within cells or tissues can be visualized using fluorescence microscopy.
