Description

100nm DOPC/CHOL Liposomes labeled with DiR, Lyophilized Powder are useful in photodynamic therapy (PDT), where they can be loaded with photosensitizers for targeted cancer treatment. The fluorescence from DiR allows for the tracking of liposome accumulation in tumors before the application of light to activate the photosensitizer. The photosensitizer inside the liposome can be excited by light to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) that selectively kill cancer cells. By monitoring the distribution of DiR-labeled liposomes, researchers can optimize the site-specific accumulation of liposomes in tumor tissues, improving the therapeutic outcomes of PDT.
