14-(Amine-PEG5-ethylcarbamoyl)tridecanoic-t-butyl ester is a multifunctional molecule with a long hydrophobic tail (14-tridecanoic acid) and a hydrophilic PEG chain with an amine group at one end. The molecule can be used to modify the surface of nanoparticles or biomaterials by attaching the PEG chain with functional groups for subsequent bioconjugation or to impart specific properties, such as enhanced solubility or biocompatibility.
