15(S)-HETE−biotin or 15(S)-Hydroxy-(5Z,8Z,11Z,13E)-eicosatetraene-(2-biotinyl)hydrazide combines the specific fatty acid structure with biotin and hydrazide functionalities. 15(S)-HETE is a derivative of arachidonic acid, a polyunsaturated fatty acid. It is produced enzymatically from arachidonic acid and belongs to the family of eicosanoids. It can be used in assays to study enzymes involved in the metabolism of eicosanoids, such as enzymes responsible for the synthesis or degradation of 15(S)-HETE.
