Description

18:0-14:0 PC (SMPC) or 1-stearoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine is an asymmetrical phosphocholine with a stearic acid (18:0) at the sn-1 position and a myristic acid (14:0) at the sn-2 position. It is a self assemble reagent which can form lipid bilayer in an aqueous solution and is used for the preparation of liposome for delivering therapeutics, such as mRNA vaccines or anti-cancer drugs. 18:0-14:0 PC can also be used as a standard for ultraperformance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry for the lipid profiling of human plasma and as a standard for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The preparation of vesicles also requires 18:0-14:0 PC. This product is available in chloroform and powder.
