18:0-18:1 PA (SOPA) or 1-stearoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (sodium salt) is an unsaturated phosphatidic acid (PA) derivative. PA is present in the biomembranes. It is the simplest glycerophospholipid. 18:0-18:1 PA can be used as a phosphatidic acid (PA) standard to identify the corresponding radiolabeled PA on the thin-layer chromatography (TLC). It can also be used in vesicles for experimental validation in order to identify novel phospholipids capable of inhibiting cellular membrane transportation by (ATP)-binding cassette P-glycoprotein (P-gp). This product is available in chloroform and powder.
