2-[2-[2-[2-[6-(Biotinylaminohexanoyl]aminoethoxy]ethoxy]ethoxy]-4-[3-(trifluoromethyl)-3H-diazirin-3-yl]benzoic Acid N-Hydroxysuccinimide Ester combines multiple functionalities, including biotinylation for specific targeting, photocross-linking for interaction studies, and NHS ester chemistry for efficient conjugation. The NHS ester group reacts with primary amines on proteins or other biomolecules to form stable conjugates. This allows for the attachment of the biotinylated and photoreactive components to proteins. The trifluoromethyl-diazirin group enables photocross-linking when exposed to UV light. This is useful for studying protein-protein, protein-DNA, or protein-lipid interactions by forming covalent bonds with nearby molecules. The biotinyl group allows for the use of this compound in assays that exploit biotin-avidin/streptavidin interactions.
