2,​2′-​bipyridine-​4,​4′-​diboronic acid (bpyba / bpydb) is a boronic acid derivative compound with a bipyridine backbone and two boronic acid functional groups attached at the 4th position on each of the pyridine rings. Due to the presence of boronic acid groups, 2,2′-bipyridine-4,4′-diboronic acid can be used as a reagent in Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions for the synthesis of biaryl compounds. This reaction is widely used in organic synthesis for the construction of complex organic molecules, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and materials.
