2,2′-Bipyridine-6,6′-Dicarboxylic Acid or 6,6′-H2bda is a compound with two carboxylic acid groups attached to a bipyridine core. Bipyridine dicarboxylic acid derivatives are utilized as sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). These sensitizers absorb sunlight and generate electron-hole pairs, initiating the photovoltaic process. By incorporating bipyridine dicarboxylic acid derivatives into DSSC devices, it enhances light absorption, charge separation, and overall solar energy conversion efficiency.
