Description

2,5-bis(hexyloxy)terephthalic dihydrazide contains a terephthalic acid derivative with two hydrazide functional groups (-NH-NH2) attached to the 1,4-positions of the benzene ring. Terephthalic acid is a common aromatic dicarboxylic acid. The hydrazide groups can react with aldehyde or ketone functional groups, forming covalent bonds known as hydrazone linkages. This property makes the compound useful as a crosslinking agent in the preparation of polymers, hydrogels, or crosslinked networks.
