Description

2,6-naphthalenediylbis-Boronic acid (NPDA) is a chemical compound containing two boronic acid functional groups attached to a naphthalene core. It can serve as a coupling partner in Suzuki-Miyaura reactions, where it reacts with aryl halides or pseudohalides in the presence of a palladium catalyst to form carbon-carbon bonds. This is widely used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and materials. Additionally, boronic acids have a high affinity for cis-diol-containing molecules, such as sugars. Therefore, 2,6-naphthalenediylbis-boronic acid can be employed in the development of sensors for detecting saccharides or other biomolecules.
