Description

3-[[2-(Biotinamido)ethyl]dithio]propionic Acid 4′-(Hydroxymethyl)DMPO Ester combines a biotinylated dithioether with a hydroxymethyl DMPO (5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline N-oxide) ester, which can be utilized for specific detection and radical trapping. The DMPO ester group is used for spin trapping of free radicals. When radicals react with DMPO, a stable adduct is formed, which can be detected using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. This is useful for studying radical species in various biochemical and physiological processes. Additionally, the compound can be used to screen potential antioxidants and radical scavengers. By trapping radicals and measuring their interactions with various compounds, researchers can identify potential drug candidates for oxidative stress-related diseases.
