Description

3,4-Dibromo-Mal-PEG8-t-butyl ester can be employed to introduce specific functional groups onto biomolecules at predetermined sites. The reactive bromine atoms can react selectively with thiol groups present in cysteine residues of proteins, forming stable thioether bonds. This allows for precise labeling without affecting other functional groups.
