Description

4-Arm PEG-CHO (4-Arm PEG-Aldehyde, 4-Arm PEG-ALD, 4-Arm Poly(ethylene glycol) Aldehyde) reacts with amine and N-terminal of peptide and protein to form an imine containing a C=N double bond. Imine bond is acid labile and may be reduced to form secondary amine via reductive animation. Aldehyde or ketone PEG is useful in reversible PEGylation. PEG aldehyde reacted with hydrazine or hydrazide forming a hydrolytic acyl hydrazone linkage. PEG butyraldehyde is available through custom synthesis.
