4′-Nitrobenzo-15-crown 5-Ether or 2,3-(4-Nitrobenzo)-1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxacyclopentadec-2-ene is a crown ether derivative characterized by a cyclic structure consisting of five oxygen atoms forming the ether ring, with a benzene ring attached to the crown ether scaffold at the 4′ position and a nitro group (–NO2) at the para position of the benzene ring. 4′-Nitrobenzo-15-crown-5 ether can be utilized for the selective recognition and binding of metal ions in solution. Its crown ether moiety enables the complexation of metal ions, allowing for applications in ion sensing, separation, and extraction.
