4,4′-((5-carboxy-1,3-phenylene)bis(oxy))dibenzoic acid or 3,​5-​bis(4-​carboxyphenoxy)​benzoic acid or H3BCPBA or H3BCP is a molecule consisting of two benzene rings connected by a 1,3-phenylene bis(oxy) linker, with carboxylic acid groups attached at the 4 and 4′ positions of each benzene ring, and a carboxylic acid group attached at the 5 position of the central phenylene group. It has been extensively studied as mesogenic materials in liquid crystal displays (LCDs). The rigid and planar structure of the molecule can impart liquid crystalline properties, making it suitable for use in LCDs for electronic devices like televisions, computer monitors, and smartphones.
