4,4′-(9,10-anthracenediyldi-2,1-ethynediyl)bis-Benzoic acid or 4,​4′-​(diethynylanthracene-​9,​10-​diyl) dibenzoic acid or 4,4′-(anthracene-9,10-diylbis(ethyne-2,1-diyl))dibenzoic acid or ADBEB consists of an anthracene core (9,10-anthracenediyl) with two ethynyl groups (-C≡CH) attached to the central carbon atoms (2,1-ethynediyl). Two benzoic acid (carboxylic acid) groups are attached to the ends of the anthracene core. Anthracene derivatives often exhibit strong fluorescence properties. This compound could be potentially used as a fluorescent probe in various applications, such as fluorescence imaging, sensors, or molecular probes.
