4,4′-(9H-carbazole-3,6-diyl)dibenzoic acid or 4,4′-CDDB or H2CDDB or H2(4,4′-CDDB) consists of two benzene rings (dibenzoic acid) connected by a 9H-carbazole-3,6-diyl bridge. Carbazole is a fused tricyclic aromatic compound containing two benzene rings and a nitrogen-containing pyrrole ring. Carbazole derivatives are known for their excellent electron transport properties and are used in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaics (solar cells), and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). The structure of 4,4′-(9H-carbazole-3,6-diyl)dibenzoic acid could contribute to the development of materials with improved electronic properties.
