4,4′-dihydroxybiphenyl-3,3′,5,5′-tetra(phenyl-4-carboxylic acid (5′,​5”-​Bis(4-​carboxyphenyl)​-​4”,​6′-​dihydroxy[1,​1′:3′,​1”:3”,​1”’-​quaterphenyl]​-​4,​4”’-​dicarboxylic acid / 4,4′‐OH‐H4TPCB , OH-TPCD) features a biphenyl core with four phenyl-4-carboxylic acid groups attached at the 3, 3′, 5, and 5′ positions, along with two hydroxyl groups at the 4 and 4′ positions. The carboxylic acid groups in the compound can serve as anchoring points for surface modification. By attaching the compound to surfaces and subsequently activating the carboxylic acid groups, further functionalization can be achieved, enabling the immobilization of biomolecules, catalysts, or other functional groups onto surfaces for various applications.
