5′-Biotin Phosphoramidite or [1-N-(4,4′-Dimethoxytrityl)-biotinyl-6-aminohexyl]-2-cyanoethyl-(N,N-diisopropyl)-phosphoramidite is used in the synthesis of biotinylated oligonucleotides, where biotin is attached at the 5′ end of the oligonucleotide chain. Biotinylated oligonucleotides are valuable tools in molecular biology and biotechnology for applications such as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), DNA sequencing, probe hybridization, and gene expression analysis. These oligonucleotides can be used as probes in hybridization assays (e.g., Southern blotting, Northern blotting) or as primers in PCR to amplify biotinylated DNA fragments.
