6-deoxy-6-[(5/6)-fluoresceinylthioureido]-RAMEB or FITC-NH-RAMEB is a modified form of beta-cyclodextrin where some of the hydroxyl groups on the glucose units are substituted with methyl groups. The fluoresceinylthioureido group attached to 6-deoxy-6-amino-beta-cyclodextrin (BCD) confers fluorescent properties to the molecule. The fluorescent properties of the molecule make it suitable for use as a fluorescent probe in biological imaging applications. It can be used to label and visualize biological structures or processes.
