6-FAM azide (FAM azide, 6-isomer) is a fluorescently labeled azide compound that combines the properties of the fluorophore 6-carboxyfluorescein (6-FAM) with an azide group. 6-Carboxyfluorescein (6-FAM) is a derivative of fluorescein, 6-FAM is a green fluorescent dye commonly used in molecular biology applications. It emits light in the green spectrum when excited by appropriate wavelengths. 6-FAM Azide can be used to label biomolecules or cells for fluorescence microscopy. The green fluorescence emitted by 6-FAM allows for visualization and tracking of labeled targets in live or fixed cells. In immunoassays, 6-FAM Azide can be used to label antibodies or antigens. The green fluorescence facilitates the detection of specific interactions and the visualization of assay results.
