Description

7-O-(Amino-PEG4)-paclitaxel contains a paclitaxel moiety which is used a treatment for certain types of cancers. Paclitaxel is the active pharmaceutical ingredient, a natural product originally derived from the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia). It is a potent anticancer agent that disrupts microtubule dynamics, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. The PEG linker provides flexibility and water solubility to the modified paclitaxel molecule, potentially improving its pharmacokinetic properties, such as solubility, circulation time, and biodistribution.
