Description

Ac36AlkGlcNAc is a synthetic derivative of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), a monosaccharide that is an essential component of various glycoproteins and glycolipids in biological systems. This compound is chemically modified by the addition of an alkynyl group (a carbon-carbon triple bond) at the sixth position of the GlcNAc molecule and is fully acetylated at all hydroxyl groups. The acetyl groups enhance the compound’s stability and solubility, while the alkynyl group enables it to participate in bioorthogonal chemical reactions, such as the copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), commonly known as “click chemistry.”
