Description

Ac4GlcNAz (N-azidoacetylglucosamine-tetraacylated) is a chemical analog of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) modified with an azide group and acetylated at all hydroxyl positions. Ac4GlcNAz can be metabolized within cells to produce azido-labeled GlcNAc, which is then incorporated into glycoconjugates such as glycoproteins and glycolipids. This modification allows for the selective introduction of azide groups into cellular glycans. In addition, Ac4GlcNAz enables the selective labeling of cell surface glycans, allowing for the attachment of various molecules, such as drugs, nanoparticles, or imaging agents, to cell surfaces via bioorthogonal reactions. This is useful for developing targeted delivery systems and creating cell-based assays.
