AILP-CNTs (Alkynyl Ionic Liquid Polymer-modified Carbon Nanotubes) combine the unique properties of alkynyl ionic liquids with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to create advanced materials with enhanced functionality and performance. Alkynyl ionic liquids are a class of ionic liquids where the cation or anion is functionalized with an alkyne group. When polymerized, these ionic liquids form a polymer with ionic liquid characteristics and reactive alkyne groups. CNTs are cylindrical nanostructures with high aspect ratios and exceptional mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. The incorporation of alkynyl ionic liquid polymers into CNTs improves the electrical conductivity and electrochemical performance of supercapacitors. The ionic liquid polymer acts as a conductive binder, enhancing the overall energy storage capability.
