Alkyne-DNA-AuAgNPs (Alkyne–DNA-Functionalized Alloyed Au/Ag Nanospheres) are spherical nanoparticles composed of a gold-silver alloy. The alloying of gold (Au) and silver (Ag) provides unique optical and electronic properties due to the interaction of both metals. The DNA-functionalized nanospheres can be used for the highly sensitive and selective detection of specific nucleic acid sequences or proteins. The alkyne groups facilitate the attachment of signaling molecules or probes, enhancing the detection capabilities. In addition, the unique SPR properties of alloyed Au/Ag nanospheres provide strong optical signals for imaging applications. When combined with DNA for specific targeting, they can be used in imaging techniques such as fluorescence microscopy or dark-field microscopy to visualize specific cells or biomolecules.
