In addition, it can be employed in the construction of DNA-based nanostructures or nanomaterials, leveraging the alkyne group for further functionalization. Phosphoramidite is a reactive group used in the stepwise addition of nucleotides to a growing oligonucleotide chain. It includes a phosphorous atom bonded to an oxygen atom and an amide group, which reacts with the hydroxyl group of a nucleotide to form a phosphodiester bond. CE refers to a cyclic ether that is incorporated into the nucleoside or nucleotide structure. This modification can stabilize the nucleic acid structure or alter its chemical properties, such as enhancing resistance to nucleases or providing specific reactivity.
