Description

Alkyne-NH2@Fe3O4 refers to a type of functionalized magnetic nanoparticle where Fe3O4 (magnetite) is modified with both alkyne (−C≡C−) and amino (−NH2) groups. Fe3O4 is a mixed-valence iron oxide with a cubic close-packed structure of oxygen anions. It exhibits magnetic properties, which are beneficial for separation and imaging applications. The magnetic properties of Fe3O4 facilitate easy separation of the catalyst from the reaction mixture, enhancing recyclability. The alkyne groups can be used for click chemistry and other organic transformations, while the amino groups can enhance catalysis through coordination or stabilization of intermediates.
