Description

Alkyne-ZnPP/CD is a compound that combines an alkyne group, zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP), and cyclodextrin (CD). ZnPP is a metalloporphyrin where zinc (Zn) is coordinated within the porphyrin ring structure. The basic porphyrin structure is a cyclic compound with alternating double bonds and a central metal ion. Cyclodextrins are cyclic oligosaccharides composed of glucose units arranged in a ring. Common types include α-, β-, and γ-cyclodextrins, depending on the number of glucose units. Alkyne-ZnPP/CD can be used to encapsulate drugs or therapeutic agents within the cyclodextrin cavity. The alkyne group facilitates further chemical modifications or conjugation to enhance drug delivery.
