Alkynyl-G2 (Alkynyl-Lysine Dendrimer G2) has been used in chemical synthesis, drug delivery systems, biomedical research, material science, catalysis, and environmental science. Generation 2 Lysine Dendrimer (G2) consists of a central core with multiple branching layers made of lysine units. Generation 2 means it has two layers of branching, providing a more complex and branched structure compared to Generation 1 dendrimers. The alkyne groups provide reactive sites for click chemistry, particularly the Huisgen cycloaddition reaction with azides. This makes it possible to create complex structures and functionalize the dendrimer further. The dendrimer’s multiple branches allow for the attachment of numerous functional groups.
