Description

Alkynylated Cellulose Nanocrystals (ACNC) refer to cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) that have been chemically modified to include alkynyl (acetylene) groups. CNCs are rigid, rod-shaped nanoparticles derived from cellulose, a natural polymer found in plant cell walls. They have high mechanical strength, a large surface area, and are biodegradable. Alkynylated CNCs can be used to create nanocomposites with improved mechanical properties. The alkynyl groups facilitate the formation of strong interactions with matrix materials. In tissue engineering, alkynylated CNCs can be used to create scaffolds with specific properties, enabling the development of new biomaterials for tissue regeneration.
