Description

Amine-PEG-Amine (NH2-PEG-NH2, Amine-Poly(ethylene glycol)-Amine) is a homobifuctional diamines polyPEG. This compound is useful for modification of biological molecules by covalent conjugation as a strategy to overcome disadvantages associated with some biopharmaceuticals. The amine functional group consists of a nitrogen atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms. Amines are chemically reactive and can participate in various chemical reactions, such as amidation and Schiff base formation, to form covalent bonds with other functional groups. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a polymer composed of repeating ethylene glycol units. In Amine-PEG-Amine, the PEG spacer serves as a flexible and hydrophilic linker between the two amine groups. PEG is often used in biomaterials and drug delivery applications because it enhances the solubility, stability, and biocompatibility of molecules and materials.
