Description

Azide-DOTA-Eu is a compound that combines the DOTA (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-N,N’,N”,N”’-tetraacetic acid) chelating agent with an azide group and a Europium (Eu) ion. DOTA is a cyclic tetraamine chelating agent that forms stable complexes with metal ions, such as Europium (Eu). The DOTA structure includes four carboxyl groups and four amine groups, which coordinate with metal ions to form a stable, eight-coordinate complex. DOTA is widely used in radiopharmaceuticals, imaging agents, and contrast agents due to its strong binding affinity with various metal ions and its ability to enhance imaging contrast. Europium is a lanthanide metal with unique luminescent properties. It exhibits strong emission in the visible spectrum, particularly when excited by ultraviolet (UV) or visible light. Europium(III) ions are commonly used in fluorescence-based applications. Europium-based compounds are used in fluorescence spectroscopy, time-resolved fluorescence assays, and as luminescent labels in biological and chemical assays.
