Description

Azide-PEG-COOH (N3-PEG-COOH) an be used to create hydrogels for various biomedical applications. The carboxylic acid group can form cross-links with amine-containing polymers, while the azide group can participate in click chemistry to introduce additional functionalities or cross-linking points, allowing for the development of tunable and responsive hydrogels. It is also an ideal for bioorthogonal chemistry, where reactions occur selectively in the presence of biological molecules. The azide group can react with alkyne-modified molecules or surfaces through CuAAC, allowing for the efficient attachment of biomolecules without interfering with native biochemical processes.
